The Alshech Academy is a Torah-Learning Community
based in the Ancient Alshech Synagogue in the Holy City of Tzfat.
The Academy offers a diverse schedule of English-Language Torah Classes from world-class Rabbis and Teachers, sharing the Wisdom of Our Sages with students around the world.
The Alshech Academy was established in 2023, as a means to bring alive the Torah of the Holy Alshech to the world, from its ancient 16th century Beit Hamidrash in Tzfat, to a new breed of Ba’alei Teshuvah; the Anglo community in Israel and abroad.

The Holy Alshech
Rabbi Moshe Alshech was the head of the rabbinical council in Tzfat in th 1500s. At the time when the Ari Hakadosh and Rabbeinu Yoseph Kiro made Tzfat the center of the Jewish Halachic and Kabalistic world. The Alshech’s commentary (Drush) on the Torah was described as one of the 70 accepted explanations of the Torah by the Ari Hakadosh. His classes were attended by all the giants of Tzfat.
The Alshech’s Shul was used by his congregation of Turkish Immigrants and Ba’alei Teshuvah (Converso’s) from Spain.
